How do I know if the countSTICK is collecting vehicle data?

How to determine your countSTICK is collecting vehicle data.

The countSTICK utilizes an onboard camera to collect vehicle movements along a roadway. Similar to some tube counters, the countSTICK has a vehicle indication LED on the front of the device that illuminates every time a potential vehicle is identified.

The easiest way to determine if the countSTICK is correctly collecting vehicle data is to monitor the countSTICK after setup to ensure the LED is flashing when a vehicle passes. If the LED is illuminating without vehicles it means the visual field may be too noisy for accurate traffic data collection.  If this occurs, choosing a different setup location is recommended.
